Disasters, Property and Politics is a blog about, well… Disasters of all sorts, how they impact property of all sorts, and the politics of all of it. We also just like to write about property, property rights, property law, and land use issues. In fact, we may be more obsessed with that then with anything else.
Much of the material here is written and edited by Laura Hatcher of Southeast Missouri State University, who serves as editor-in-chief and blog administrator. Our other regular contributor, Logan Strother of Syracuse University, provides most of the rest of the content and also serves, along with Randy Burnside (Southern Illinois University), associate editors.
We welcome your thoughts and ideas concerning specific posts. We are a moderated blog, but only because we want to stay on topic and be civil! Please critique, analyze, and offer alternative perspectives — that’s the whole point!
