Disasters, Property, and Politics is a blog about, well… Disasters of all sorts, how they impact property of all sorts, and the politics of all of it. We also just like to write about property, property rights, property law, and land use issues. Sometimes, we write about other politics, or about law unrelated to property or disasters. While we are a little obsessed with what happens to property in disaster policy, we are also interested in a few other things.
Much of the material here is written and edited by Laura Hatcher of Southeast Missouri State University, who serves as editor-in-chief and blog administrator. Our other regular contributor, Logan Strother of Syracuse University, provides most of the rest of the content and also serves as the Associate Editor.
We welcome your thoughts and ideas concerning specific posts. We are a moderated blog, but only because we want to stay on topic and be civil! Please critique, analyze, and offer alternative perspectives — that’s the whole point!
